NYOCON is excited to work with PIN-IT USA. After many conversations with Sheldon Scipio, the CEO, it is obvious that he understands the advantages of building an organisation that promotes teamwork, encouragement and laughter to support staff’s mental-health and well-being.
I can see PIN-IT USA becoming an example of what is possible in the new era, and a ‘lead by example’ company. - Devin K. Floyd President of NYOCON
Devin K. Floyd's Backstory
Devin spent the first 20 years of his career working as an Engineer in corporate IT and has experienced IT in many different types of companies. He has worked for Mega Corporations, Medium and Large sized Companies, and a startup that grew to become a Large Corporation. The types of businesses he has worked for include IT Consulting, Document & Print, Health Insurance, CLEC, Telecommunications, and Cloud Service Provider.
His technical background is vast and he has worked on every piece that makes up IT. Accordingly, he speaks fluent computer geek and can relate to the technical staff on their level. This makes him an excellent translator between the business and IT. Over the years, he has developed a comprehensive understanding of how all the individual pieces and teams can be combined properly to form an effectively running IT infrastructure aligned with the needs of the Business.
He has worked through several mergers and consolidation efforts, experiencing the good, the bad, and the worst of the worst – which has resulted in a personal knowledge-base of the common flaws that cost companies immeasurable amounts of wasted money and man hours.
As someone who enjoys wearing several hats, his roles would naturally expand beyond just engineering. Over the years he was able to grow his understanding of IT from both Upper Management’s & the Business’ point of view. He also discovered he had a knack for working with and managing over-stressed and frustrated teams of employees, making dysfunctional environments productive, and putting smiles back on the staff’s faces.
Since leaving his corporate job in 2015, he threw himself into self education… learning topics including business, leadership, Enhancing Human Capital, marketing, sales, etc. He is currently the President of a 501(c)(3) non-profit, has taught training sessions on how to start businesses, and happily provides mentoring for graduate MBA & MS students at the University of Rochester.
Now he takes his wisdom, experiences, and passion for helping others and puts them towards being an Independent Consultant.
After experiencing first hand the stress and low employee morale of many corporate IT Environments, the frustration felt by the Business side due to ineffective IT, as well as the dysfunctional departments & lack of productivity that can follow mergers – he focuses his talents to helping CEOs and CIOs fix these in an effort to make their business more productive and cost effective… while simultaneously making their company a more enjoyable place to work.
